Stephen Simpkin, Data Science Fellow, Essex County Council, has been awarded the prestigious Professor Sir Ian Diamond Award for Excellence at today's Analysis in Government Awards.

This brand-new award for 2021 recognises Stephen's outstanding contribution to data analysis across local government in Essex as well as the excellence he demonstrates in promoting and championing data analysis within the county as a driving force in the development of the Data Professionals Network.

"It was so nice for someone to take the time to nominate me and overwhelming to win such a prestigious award," said Stephen. "This award recognises the exceptional data analysis work taking place across the entire Data and Analytics team within Essex County Council to improve outcomes for people living and working in the county."

Sir Ian Diamond is the UK's National Statistician.
