Art of the Possible

Coming soon to an Essex town or village - a pop up theatre, a multi-faith gathering and a living library are among events lined up to take place this October for the Art of the Possible Festival.

From 14 to 31 October the Art of the Possible Festival will bring together communities across Essex who have ideas and thoughts they want to share.

With more than 150 regular activities and one-off events already listed, Art of the Possible is about promoting the good things that happen and to celebrate how these activities make real differences to peoples’ lives, and in turn support the alleviation of pressure on public services.

From tackling loneliness; bonding with others over passions and hobbies; or improving local surroundings, the Festival aims to connect and inspire further strong community bonds alongside helping residents to shape the places that they live.

With both bookable and ‘just turn up’ events happening across the county, there is something to appeal to everyone.

Got green fingers and interested in building a community garden? Then read about the GardenSOUP event at Cressing Temple. Ever wondered what a day in the life of someone else would be like? Then borrow a ‘human book’ from the living library. Fancy a social and sporty start to the weekend? Then join the world’s biggest running event and take part in an Essex parkrun. Join the Essex Crowd and help find out how crowdfunding could make a community idea a reality.

The full festival programme can be accessed via the Art of the Possible website.

New ideas for activities during the Festival can be suggested via artof.thepossible@essex.gov.uk
